Luljetta's Hanging Gardens & Spa: A relaxing retreat

Tuesday, August 25, 2015

A quiet little hideaway concealed in the cliffs of Antipolo, just a few minutes from Pasig City, is Luljetta's Hanging Gardens and Spa. I chanced upon this while watching TFC while we were still in Doha and knew right away that we just had to go. The first thing I did our very first day in Manila was to make reservations for our anniversary. It was nothing compared to what we had originally planned, but we were feeling hopeful while we were entering their premises.

Luljetta's had a stunning view of Antipolo, Laguna Lake and the Makati skyline from their reception area and cafe. From there, we knew that we were going to have a pleasant and peaceful day.

They offer 3 packages all good for a seven-hour stay in the compound. We chose the comfort package (you can check the other packages here.)

Comfort Package - Php 2,450 per pax
  • Access to Hanging Gardens Facilities (Sauna, Dr. Fish Spa, Heated Jacuzzi, Hydro-massage Pool, Infinity Pools, Meditation Lounges)
Locker Room
After checking-in, staff will guide you to the locker rooms and shower area and hand you a basket with towels and batik robes you can use while inside the premises. We also used the basket as our "bags" to hold our phones and wallets.

After having changed into our batik robes, we now had seven hours to roam around the garden. It was very relaxing and peaceful. There were not that much guests since it was a Friday. So it felt like we had the garden to ourselves.

The place is studded with positivist quotes that can truly uplift.

Jacuzzi
The jacuzzi area was relaxing but we did not take to much time here because there was not much view.

Hydro-massage Pool
Infinity Pool
The infinity pool is where we took the most time staying. For me, this is the best place to really waste your seven hours of stay in the garden.

Since Luljetta is located in the cliffs of Antipolo, expect a lot of steep stairways.  It was quite a workout if you ask me, but totally worth it.

Cottages

  • Snacks of Antipolo's Best Suman at Luljetta Cafe
Antipolo's Sumaka
Complimentary snacks are available at the cafe. Antipolo's Sumaka, Fried suman (rice cake cooked in coconut milk) with mangoes, kasoy (cashew) nuts and latik (caramelized coconut cream.) I loved this snack, it's not too sweet which is just perfect for my tastebuds.

You can have your snack at the cafe anytime within the day, just show the cafe staff your stub that will be given to you at the reception upon check-in.

  • 4-course Wellness Menu at Luljetta's Hanging Restaurant

During check-in, they will ask you what time you'd like to take your meal so they can prepare it for you. We came in the garden at around 10 a.m. so we requested for our meal to be served at lunch at around 1 p.m.

Filipino Sungka
Dining Area
Cream of Mushroom Soup
Crab sticks Salad with Vinaigrette
Tanglad (Lemongrass) Iced Tea
I know what you're thinking, the mason jars were totally unmatched for the whole look of the place. We pointed this out to the server and he said that bamboo drinking cups were on the works. Looks like management also had the same thought.

Marinara Pasta
Cheesecake

  • Luljetta's Signature Massage

Similarly with the meal, you also had to specify the time of your massage. They required that you showered before the session. So to maximize our time at the garden, we had our massage at the last hour.

View from the massage treatment cottages
You have an option where you want to have your massage - from an air-conditioned room near the locker rooms or this treatment cottage with a view of the rest of Antipolo. It was an easy decision, I know you would take the room with a view, too.

  • Ear Candling
Ear Candling
Lastly, we had an ear candling session which was no more than 10 minutes.

The whole experience was amazing and totally relaxing. I felt rejuvenated after the whole day. The best thing I love about this place is the view and the massage. Nothing can get more relaxing than these two together.

If you're ever visiting the Philippines, I would recommend that you check this place out. And if you do decide to visit, it is advisable to make proper arrangements ahead of time. It can get quite busy during the weekends. Although they accept walk-in guests, they will prioritize those with reservations especially for the treatments/massage. They don't have options for overnight stays, but you can book a room at Lorelend Farm Resort - Luljetta is within the compounds of Loreland.

  2. The Greek Mister isn't a big fan of massages so I'd probably visit this place with some friends. Looks amazing! How was the ear candling session? Been wanting to do it.... I hope they have one here in Doha. :D

    1. You should go, you'd love their massage.

It was my first time to try ear candling, I was a little scared especially when I heard the burning of the wax/paper very near my face. They'll show you how much wax they got out of your ears. There was none in ours so I can't say that I can hear more clearly. Haha.
